Harmony on the Sunshine Coast, something for everyone.

The Avid Property Group has flown under the radar for many years, despite developing countless award winning projects across Australia. However the property industry was forced to sit up and take notice in October 2019 when they acquired Villaworld giving the business a combined portfolio of 37 projects, more than 12,000 residential lots and a gross revenue pipeline of $4.7 billion. This includes a diverse mix of development types, including masterplanned communities, housing, medium density living, apartments and more than 350 hectares of industrial land.

One of their flagship projects is Harmony, AVID Property Group’s $3 billion project strategically located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast and is the largest master planned community underway in the Palmview area.  It is catering to a wide range of buyers – all enhanced by 130 hectares of open space and the future delivery of more than 30,000 GFA of Town Centre. More than 9,000 short-term jobs will be generated through the delivery of the project making it a key economic driver for the region.

Harmony’s design embraces the Sunshine Coast’s enviable lifestyle and is conveniently connected to the Bruce Highway and the Sunshine Coast Motorway, Mooloolaba is 10km and Maroochydore 14km to the north, the coastline is only 7km to the east, Brisbane is 90 km to the south, and the Sunshine Coast hinterland is only 20kms to the west. Central is a word often used.

In addition, Harmony is also delivering Queensland’s first grand linear park design – spanning the length of 10 football fields. The park has been designed for all ages, with an outdoor fitness area, innovative play equipment, a toddler park and plenty of green space to relax in.

Harmony has already opened three local parks within the Grand Linear Park and has just opened the final two hectares of the park ahead of schedule, as green space for the community to enjoy – bringing the total length of the park to five hectares, albeit not fully embellished.

The Harmony community has also been recognised for its sustainability values, achieving the prestigious six ‘leaf’ EnviroDevelopment certification.

What is the price range for land?
At Harmony, there is a range of available land options that cater to first, second and even third home buyers and their lifestyle needs and budgets. The majority of land at Harmony is priced well below $300,000 – with the average block of land around $250,000.

Why do residents choose to move to Harmony?
Harmony is designed to embrace its beachside location on the Sunshine Coast and its ethos centres around relaxed living and a coastal lifestyle. It has drawn residents from far and wide, with many moving for a sea change and others choosing Harmony for its close proximity to education and employment hubs on the Sunshine Coast.

When was the site acquired?
AVID Property Group acquired the site for Harmony in Palmview on the Sunshine Coast in 2004. Since launching in 2016, Harmony has seen many significant milestones along its journey – including the opening of its second display home village, Harmony Display World, the opening of its Grand Linear Park and welcoming more than 1,000 families to the growing community.

How long did it take to get approval?
Harmony was the culmination of 13 years of planning before the first residents moved into Harmony in 2017, with planning and infrastructure planning approved in 2016.

When was the first sod turned?

The first sod at Harmony was turned in August 2016, with the AVID Property Group team joined by Sunshine Coast Mayor Cr Mark Jamieson and local councillors onsite to celebrate the huge milestone for the development.

How big will the project be?

The Harmony community is still growing, but once complete will be home to more than 12,000 new residents and nearly 4,800 homes across 378 hectares.

What makes Harmony special/unique?
The Harmony community truly embraces the lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast. Not only does it offer an affordable range of home options, it has also built a well-connected community from the ground up. The Harmony team has worked hard to connect residents from the moment they decide to buy at Harmony, with community activities and events like ‘long-table dinners’ where residents bring plates of food and get to know their new neighbours, to weekly yoga and family fitness classes.

Harmony also has its own dedicated Community Development Manager, Susana Waldron, who brings people together and develops a whole range of activities and events throughout the year that residents can take part in so that they can actively engage with their neighbours and the wider community.
